This antique crock is in excellent condition for its age. It measures 4 3/8" X 3". This James Keiller and Sons Marmalade Crock dates from 1914-1940. This has discoloration in areas and an old shallow chip on the base.
A little history:
The firm of James Keiller and Sons was established in England in 1797 and it made pottery containers for it's products until 1940. From 1862 through 1914, they said "Only prize medal for Marmalade, London 1862" as part of the mark. "Made in Great Britain" is found on jars dating from 1914 to 1940.
